Hi, I Am Trina Krug

I’m a low carb runner, ultra marathon trainee, and Doctor of Science student in Integrative Health and Functional Nutrition. After years of navigating conflicting advice around fueling, metabolism, and endurance, I built Running Keto to share what actually works, not just in theory, but in training.
I believe in fat-fueled miles, metabolic efficiency, and performance that lasts longer than your glycogen stores. Whether you’re aiming for a 5K or training for a 50-miler, there’s a better way to run than chasing sugar highs and bonking lows.

What Do I Do for Healthy Nutrition?​

I use nutrition to support my running, recovery, and overall metabolic health. My daily habits are built around low carb, high protein eating with a focus on fueling long runs and supporting performance without relying on sugar or processed foods. Here is what I do:
